BOISE, Idaho —

Grocery store company WinCo has opened a new distribution center in Boise.

The 750,000-square-foot center employs about 250 workers and will ship goods to stores in Idaho, Utah and Washington.

The center will serve 13 stores at first but has the capacity to serve 28.

The Boise-based company is projected to have 84 stores in the West by 2011. It has 67 now.

WinCo now has stores in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California and Nevada. It plans to open two stores in Salt Lake City this year, and three more Utah stores are planned in 2010.
