Aberdeen Boy, 9, arrested in alleged attack

Aberdeen police arrested a 9-year-old boy last week after he allegedly chased his mother down the street with a baseball bat.

It was the second such incident involving the boy, who reportedly became upset after seeing his mother with her boyfriend of six months, according to a report on King 5 that cited police and unnamed family as sources.

Relatives told the station that the boy went to his room, where he tied a belt around his neck before breaking through the door with a bat and chasing relatives out of the house and down the street.

When police arrived, the boy had cornered his mother on a neighbor's porch and was screaming at her, the station reported.

Police said they encountered the boy a month ago, when he allegedly threatened his mother with a knife. He was booked into the Grays Harbor Juvenile Detention Center.
