Barista's ex-boyfriend sought in killing of man who gave her ride
Everett police are looking for a barista's ex-boyfriend in connection with the slaying Monday of a man who dropped her off for work at an espresso stand.
Everett police are looking for a barista's ex-boyfriend in connection with the slaying Monday of a man who had just dropped her off for work at an espresso stand.
Sgt. Robert Goetz said that the victim, after dropping the woman off at Cowgirls Espresso in the 300 block of Southeast Everett Mall Way, stopped in a parking lot with his dog about 5 a.m. Monday. The woman said she heard gunfire and saw he had been shot. She called 911.
Police said witnesses saw the suspect, 21-year-old Bud Michael Fraser, of Marysville, walking away from the scene.
Police released a photo of Fraser on Monday, asking for the public's help in locating the suspect. He is considered armed and dangerous, Goetz said.
Police said a vehicle thought to belong to the suspect was found in a nearby McDonald's parking lot and was impounded along with the victim's car.
The victim's name wasn't released Monday. Police said he was in his early 20s.
Goetz said police don't know whether the victim and the suspect knew each other.
The suspect was identified by witnesses and was described as a white male with a mohawk hair cut. He is 5-feet-7 and 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Police said anyone who knows Fraser's whereabouts should call 911, or the department's tip line at 425-257-8450.
Seattle Times staff reporter Susan Gilmore and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
