Two probable swine flu cases reported at University of Washington

Two probable cases of swine flu were reported early Thursday at a sorority house at the University of Washington, where sorority rush is underway.

Two probable cases of swine flu were reported at a sorority house at the University of Washington early Thursday.

The university, where sorority rush is starting, said it advised the two students to return home and alerted others to take care to prevent further transmission.

Public health officials are not testing for the H1N1 virus except when a patient is hospitalized.

In King County, the most recent confirmed H1N1 case occurred during the week of Aug. 8.

People who report flu-like symptoms are believed to be infected swine flu because the A H1N1 virus accounts for more than 90 percent of the virus strain circulating currently.
