Precinct-level results from the Aug. 18 primary election for King County executive show that Susan Hutchison dominated the suburbs and rural areas while Dow Constantine won much of Seattle and Vashon Island.

Precinct-level results from the Aug. 18 primary election for King County executive show Susan Hutchison dominated the suburbs and rural areas while Dow Constantine won much of Seattle and Vashon Island.

Hutchison, a former TV news anchor, faces Constantine, a member of the Metropolitan King County Council, in the Nov. 3 general election.

Hutchison won 33 percent of the total primary vote and Constantine got 27 percent. State Sen. Fred Jarrett, state Rep. Ross Hunter and County Councilmember Larry Phillips split the remainder of the vote, almost evenly.

Jarrett and Hunter won pockets on the Eastside, where they represent voters in the Legislature. Phillips won parts of Magnolia and Ballard, which he represents.

Hutchison did win some Seattle precincts, including some around her Laurelhurst neighborhood, as well as precincts in Magnolia, Ballard and North Seattle, near Shoreline.

All the precincts in eastern King County not shown on the map went for Hutchison.
