What's open, closed for Labor Day

A listing of what banking business, government offices and transit operations are open and closed today, for Labor Day.

What's open and closed today for the Labor Day holiday.

• Most banks and credit unions closed.

• Most government offices closed.

• Post offices closed; no home-mail delivery.

• Schools and public libraries closed.

• State liquor stores open 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

• Garbage, yard-waste and recycling collections on regular schedules; Seattle's transfer and recycling stations open.

• Metro, Community Transit, Everett Transit, and Pierce Transit on Sunday schedules; King County Water Taxi on Saturday schedule.

• The Point Defiance/Talequah, Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth and Seattle/Bainbridge Island ferries on holiday schedule.

• Parking is free at Seattle's parking meters and pay stations.
