Pierce County girl, 4, killed by neighbor's SUV
A Pierce County sheriff's spokesman says a man pulling his SUV into his driveway in a Parkland neighborhood struck and fatally injured a 4-year-old girl.
PARKLAND, Pierce County — A Pierce County sheriff's spokesman says a man pulling his SUV into his driveway in a Parkland neighborhood struck and fatally injured a 4-year-old girl.
Spokesman Ed Troyer says the man had stopped when he saw kids on bicycles in front of him Friday afternoon and waited for them to move out of the way. Troyer says the driver thought they had all moved but "unfortunately there was a 4-year-old on a bike still in front of the car." The little girl was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle but died a short time later.
Neither the little girl nor the driver was immediately identified.
