Radio and TV show host Glenn Beck will be celebrated on Sept. 26 in Mount Vernon, where he grew up.
Mayor Bud Norris is proclaiming "Glenn Beck Day" and giving him a key to the city.
That's not sitting well with some critics of "The Glenn Beck Program" who think he went too far in July when he said he believed President Barack Obama is a racist.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports nearly three dozen protesters carried signs and chanted Monday outside City Hall. The protest was organized by the Young Democrats of Skagit County.
Beck got his start in radio in Mount Vernon and his TV show is now one of the most highly rated on Fox News.
