A 31-year-old man arrested after gunfire prompted authorities to close Interstate 5 in north Seattle for several hours has been ordered held on $500,000 bail.
A second man was released Monday. A Seattle city attorney's spokeswoman said there was insufficient evidence to hold him.
No one was injured and no property was damaged in the gunfire late Friday night near North Seattle Community College.
Held for investigation of weapons violations was Richard Blake. According to court documents, he was convicted of armed robbery in 2003. He is also reportedly a former student at the community college who had set up a campsite nearby before being asked to leave.
Court documents say Blake told police questioning him about the gunfire, "It doesn't matter because I am going to be railroaded anyway." Police say he also told them, "If I had wanted to shoot officers, you would have had some dead cops."
A police report says items found in a search of a wooded campsite near the college included an AK-47-style rifle, ammunition and a "Samurai-type sword."
