The Associated Press

SEATTLE —

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency is getting nearly $15 million in federal stimulus money to reduce petroleum use in the region.

The money is part of nearly $300 million the U.S. Department of Energy announced Wednesday.

The agency will use the money to promote the use of alternative fuels and create a market for renewable fuels such as biogas from waste products and solar energy.
