Slide into Spokane River causes wave that hurts 2
A sand embankment nearly an acre in size slid into the Spokane River causing a large wave that crossed the river, knocked two swimming children into docks and damaged docks and boats at the Porcupine Bay Campground.

A sand embankment nearly an acre in size slid into the Spokane River causing a large wave that crossed the river, knocked two swimming children into docks and damaged docks and boats at the Porcupine Bay Campground.
Spokane Tribal police and sheriff's deputies report the slide occurred about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on the north side of the river near the Blue Creek Campground, which also had some damage.
Lincoln County Deputy Brad Sweet says witnesses reported a wave 5 to 6 feet high slammed into the boat launch at Porcupine Bay Campground.
Two children swimming were swept under a dock and suffered minor injuries.
Spokane Tribal Det. Phin Haglin says some docks were thrown on shore.
Porcupine Bay is about 40 miles west of Spokane.
