Edmonds Tea Party activist running for Legislature

An Edmonds woman who has been active in Tea Party rallies has announced she's running for the state Legislature next year.

The Associated Press

EDMONDS, Wash. —

An Edmonds woman who has been active in Tea Party rallies has announced she's running for the state Legislature next year.

The Everett Herald says Elizabeth Scott hopes people concerned about government spending and taxes will help her unseat Rep. Marko Liias of Mukilteo. He says he won't start campaigning until after the next session of the Legislatures ends in March.

The 43-year-old Scott is a fiscal and social conservative who belongs to the National Rifle Association. She says government is naturally invasive and needs to be cut back from time to time.
