Seattle Police Department promotions announced
Seattle police Lt. Ron Wilson, a 32-year department veteran who has worked the robbery, fugitive and gang unit CQ, has been promoted to the rank of captain and will oversee the department's Metropolitan Section, which includes SWAT, K9, and harbor and mounted patrols.

In other executive-level changes, Capt. Mike Sanford, a 25-year department veteran who has been assigned to the department's operations and planning section, will become acting assistant chief of patrol operations, and Assistant Chief Nick Metz, a 26-year veteran who has been assigned to the patrol-operations bureau, will become acting deputy chief of operations.
Wilson will be replaced by SWAT commander Lt. Steve Wilske.
The appointments were announced Wednesday by Interim Police Chief John Diaz, who before his interim appointment in March was deputy chief of operations.
