Forecast cooler, clear for Blue Angels air show Sunday
Today's big Seafair Sunday of hydro races and soaring Blue Angels will have clear skies and warm but bearable temperatures in the 80s.
Perhaps the weather gods like a good air show.
The sweltering heat has dissipated and conditions for the final Blue Angels air show over Lake Washington at 1:30 p.m. today might be perfect. The forecast calls for clear skies and warm but bearable temperatures in the 80s.
The I-90 floating bridge will close at 12:45 p.m. and reopen two hours later for the air show.
To see the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornets close up, head over to Seattle's Museum of Flight in the morning. For the show's best seats, make your way to Genesee Park, where adult tickets go for $30. Seniors pay $5 and children 12 and younger are free.
Genesee Park is also one of the best areas to watch the Chevrolet Cup hydroplane races, which run from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
You can catch a $5 shuttle in Renton at Seventh & Garden behind Fry's or at the Eastgate Park & Ride at 14200 S.E. Eastgate Way in Bellevue. Another option is to take light rail to the Othello Station and catch a free shuttle.
Finally, there will be free public tours of the USS Shoup and the USS Momsen at Terminal 30 from noon to 4:30 p.m. You can also tour the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf and the Canadian ships HMCS Nanimo and Brandon.
