Timeline: South Park slaying suspect Isaiah M.K. Kalebu

March 29, 2008: Isaiah M.K. Kalebu, armed with a 6-inch knife, allegedly threatens his mother. King County sheriff's deputies respond but cannot find him.

March 30, 2008: Kalebu is arrested at his sister's White Center home for two counts of felony harassment and two counts of domestic violence malicious mischief.

April 2, 2008: Kalebu is charged in King County Superior Court with two counts of domestic violence felony harassment and malicious mischief. Bail is set at $25,000.

April 14, 2008: At the request of his attorney, Kalebu is sent to Western State Hospital for a mental-health evaluation. He is eventually found mentally incompetent and kept at the hospital for treatment.

Aug. 6, 2008: Kalebu is found mentally competent by Western State.

Aug. 21, 2008: Kalebu's attorney asks King County Superior Court Judge Brian Gain to release him to his aunt's care. Prosecutors oppose his release and want him returned to the King County Jail. Gain releases Kalebu without bail.

April 9, 2009: Kalebu pleads guilty to two counts of misdemeanor harassment and malicious mischief for the threats to his mother.

May 15: Kalebu is allowed to withdraw his guilty plea.

June 4: Kalebu appears before Gain and his trial date is set.

July 9: Kalebu is questioned and released in connection with an arson/homicide in Pierce County involving his aunt and her tenant.

July 10: After Kalebu misses his hearing in King County Superior Court, the King County Prosecutor's Office asks Gain to issue a bench warrant for his arrest. Gain declines and resets the hearing for July 13.

July 13: Kalebu appears in court. Deputy King County Prosecutor Zac Hostetter asks Gain to remand Kalebu into custody "based on concerns of mental instability and Rachel Kalebu's protection order filed just prior to the arson." Hostetter also cites the Pierce County homicide and arson investigation. Gain denies the motion.

July 19: Two women are attacked at their home in Seattle's South Park neighborhood. One is killed.

July 21: Kalebu's attorney, Teresa Griffin, requests to withdraw from the case.

July 24: Kalebu is arrested in connection with the South Park attacks.

July 25: King County District Court Judge pro-tem Karli Jorgensen orders Kalebu held on $10 million bail for investigation of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder and two counts of rape and burglary.
