The University of Washington, Bothell, will offer student housing for the first time this fall.
A new UW apartment complex, a short walk from the campus, will house about 40 students. It comes in response to growing enrollment at the branch campus and a desire to expand student amenities, the university said in a news release. UW Bothell enrolls about 1,900 students.
The coed complex will feature large one-bedroom, one bath units, suitable for two students and available to enrolled students who are aged 18 or over, or who will turn 18 during the 2009-10 academic year. Priority will be given to students who meet certain criteria and who submit a housing application by July 15.
A shared one-bedroom apartment will cost each student $625 a month, pending pricing approval by the UW Board of Regents. A limited number of single-occupancy apartments also will be available, at $1,100 a month each.
