Grant County coroner arrested after dispute with employee

The Grant County coroner has pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful imprisonment.

EPHRATA, Wash. —

The Grant County coroner has pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful imprisonment.

Chief Deputy Coroner Lynette Henson says the coroner, Jerry Jasman, refused to let her out of the county coroner pickup, which he was driving.

The Grant County sheriff arrested Jasman June 29 at the coroner's office. He spent a night in jail before posting a $5,000 bond. Jasman also was ordered to have no contact with Henson.

Jasman pleaded not guilty Monday morning in Grant County Superior Court. The felony charge is punishable by up to 90 days in jail.

As an elected official, Jasman remains as coroner.
