FEMA: Monroe mobile homes in flood plain must go

About 100 people who live in a mobile home park along the Snohomish River are being told they have to move.

MONROE — About 100 people who live in a mobile home park along the Snohomish River are being told they have to move.

The park is in an area that floods every winter. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is forcing Snohomish County to make changes at the park.

FEMA says Snohomish County needs to get the buildings and vehicles out of the flood plain or the federal agency could pull flood insurance coverage for the whole county.

Snohomish County set Aug. 31 as the deadline for moving everyone out of the park near Monroe.
