Full weekend of events means roads will be full, too
As weekends in Seattle go, this one's got something for everyone. On the streets, expect a convergence of basketball and soccer fans, 25,000 runners, a gay-pride parade — and of course, the folks who love hot rods.

Construction and lane closures
• Paving projects on Second Avenue from Denny Way to Jackson Street.
• Paving project on First Avenue South from Stacy to Horton streets.
• Eastbound-lane closures on South Spokane Street
from Fourth to Sixth avenues.
• South Royal Brougham Way reduced to one lane in each direction from Occidental Avenue South to Fourth Avenue South.
• Third Avenue South closed from Royal Brougham Way to Edgar Martinez Drive South.
As weekends in Seattle go, this one's got something for everyone. On the streets, expect a convergence of basketball and soccer fans, 25,000 runners, a gay-pride parade — and of course, the folks who love hot rods.
Whether you're going to any of the events or you have your own plans, you'll have to navigate through some heavy traffic.
Today, expect extra traffic near Qwest Field, where the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Health & Fitness Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. At KeyArena, the Storm will play Los Angeles at 7 p.m.
Road closures
On Saturday, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon (see map) means road closures in Tukwila and Seattle, some of them starting as early as 4 a.m.
The viaduct and many ramps will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. until the afternoon, and the Interstate 90 express lanes will be blocked off during the event.
The Greenwood Car Show is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, and will take over Greenwood Avenue North from 72nd Street to 87th Street in North Seattle.
On Sunday, Fourth Avenue will be shut down from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the Gay Pride Parade from Union Street to Denny Way.
Side streets along the route will be bustling, too.
Then you've got the Sounders playing Colorado at 1 p.m. at Qwest Field.
Likely to aggravate drivers is a slew of other construction and lane closures overlapping this weekend's events.
