Auditors find fault with Whitman County records

For the fourth year in a row, the state auditor's office says Whitman County's financial reporting procedures are inadequate.

COLFAX, Wash. —

For the fourth year in a row, the state auditor's office says Whitman County's financial reporting procedures are inadequate.

A report released Monday says the county was unable to provide reliable financial statements for 2007.

County Commissioner Michael Largent told the Moscow-Pullman Daily News the county didn't have the resources to meet the deadline. He hopes the county will be able to comply with its report for 2008.
