Settlement reached in death of student

A lawsuit against a Spokane company that provides foreign trips for students has been settled.

SPOKANE, Wash. —

A lawsuit against a Spokane company that provides foreign trips for students has been settled.

The family of Tyler Hill of Minnesota settled its wrongful death lawsuit against Ambassadors Group.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but Ambassadors Group said it will continue to run its People to People foreign travel programs.

The 16-year-old Hill died during a trip to Japan in 2007. His family contended in a lawsuit filed in Minnesota that his death was caused by tour leaders failing to get him the medical attention he requested. The student suffered from diabetes and migraine headaches.
