Seattle celebrates Juneteenth with a parade

Joseph Overall, a color-guard member of the Buffalo Soldiers of Seattle, stands at attention Saturday before the Juneteenth parade, which marched from Garfield High School to Pratt Park in Seattle's Central Area.
The celebration commemorates the arrival of the news in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 that the Civil War was over and all remaining slaves were free.
