Everett hiker overdue from North Cascades trip

A 22-year-old man who left for a three-day hike in the North Cascades National Park earlier this week has not returned when he said he would and a search has begun to find him.

A 22-year-old man who left for a three-day hike in the North Cascades National Park earlier this week has not returned when he said he would and a search has begun to find him.

Mark Albrecht, from Everett, was going to hike to a 7,200 foot high glacier in the park, according to friend Mike Zachman. He told his parents he was going to come back on Wednesday.

Zachman said Albrecht was an Eagle Scout and has some snow camping experience, but not much hiking experience on glaciers.

National park rangers are involved in the search and helicopters may also be brought in if the skies clear, Zachman said.
