Woman improves after overpass fall

Kirkland

A woman who fell from a freeway overpass and was struck by a truck Thursday was upgraded from critical to serious condition Friday at Harborview Medical Center.

The Washington State Patrol interviewed the driver of a moving truck believed to have struck the woman after she fell. The driver had left the scene without talking to police. Officers said they are still investigating the incident and no criminal charges have been filed.

The victim fell from the Northeast 124th Street overpass of I-405 near Totem Lake early Thursday afternoon.
