You may have felt a quick sprinkle of rain here and there Wednesday, but since no rain fell at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the official reporting station, Seattle matched the 29-day record for consecutive rainless spring days.

"Showers are by nature hit-or-miss," said Dennis D'Amico, meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Seattle. "It didn't rain hard anywhere or for very long."

Rain should hold off today, which would be the record-breaking 30th day, but the weather service forecasts a chance of showers Friday afternoon.

The 29-day record was last set in May-June 1982. The overall record for consecutive dry days is 51, set in July and August of 1951.
