Museum free for dads, kids Sunday
It's like an invitation to be a kid again: Dads accompanied by their children will receive free admission to The Children's Museum, Seattle, next Sunday, Father's Day.
Once inside, dads and kids are free to explore the museum's 11 permanent exhibits, including the Grocery Store, Bijou Dream Theatre and Dunn Lumber Construction Zone, all designed to widen the child's world through hands-on exploration.
Father's Day is Cultural Sunday at the museum, which is on the west side of the Seattle Center House. Between 1 and 2 p.m., ethnic-dance company Radost Folk Ensemble will be presenting an all-ages selection of music and dance from Eastern Europe.
Information in this story, published June 15, 2009, was corrected June 15, 2009. The earlier headline "Children's Museum in Seattle free for dads, kids on Father's Day," implied free admission for children and their fathers. Admission is only free for fathers accompanied by their children. Admission is charged for children.Copyright © 2009 The Seattle Times Company
