SALT LAKE CITY —

Western governors will gather in Park City, Utah, starting Sunday to discuss key issues such as energy development, climate change and water supplies.

The three-day Western Governors' Association meeting is meant to allow governors to step outside of their partisan affiliations to discuss unifying, cross-state issues.

Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who is serving as the group's chair, played a role in developing this year's agenda.

Speakers at the conference are expected to include Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Energy Secretary Steven Chu and Nancy Sutley, chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

The association includes the governors of 19 Western states and American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
