Medical examiner identifies man who died in boating accident

King County Medical Examiners have identified the man whose body was pulled from Lake Washington near Kirkland on Friday after an apparent boating accident.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man whose body was pulled from Lake Washington near Kirkland on Friday after an apparent boating accident.

August Reyes, 56, of Kirkland, was found about 20 feet offshore of Juanita Beach Park shortly after noon on Friday. Medical examiners are still investigating the cause of Reyes' death.

Reyes and a friend encountered rough waters while boating late Thursday, and both men went overboard just north of the Highway 520 floating bridge as wind pushed the small craft, the King County Sheriff's Office reported last week.

Reyes' friend managed to swim to shore after about an hour and a half, but told investigators that Reyes had disappeared in the lake.
