Man arrested in Federal Way slaying
Federal Way police arrested a man late Wednesday in connection with a homicide.
Federal Way police responding to a suspicious circumstances call at an apartment complex found a man dead of puncture wounds, then arrested his roommate for investigation of homicide after he tried to flee.
Dead is Jose Alfredo Jiminez, 24, who police said they found with "several possible puncture wounds" after arriving at the Cascade Ridge Apartments about 1:05 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers initially observed "areas of blood" outside a building at the apartments, later locating Jiminez inside.
An officer tried to resuscitate Jiminez, but he was pronounced dead at the scene by medics a short time later.
The suspect, a man in his early 20s, tried to leave as officers arrived on scene. He was later determined to be Jiminez's roommate.
The man was booked into King County Jail shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday for investigation of homicide and on an immigration hold. He is scheduled for a first appearance in court at 2:30 p.m. today, the King County Prosecutor's Office said.
