Rattlesnake bites teen; car breaks down en route to hospital, ambulance called

Franklin County sheriff's officers say an 18-year-old boy reportedly was bitten by a baby rattlesnake at Palouse Falls State Park in southeast Washington.

PASCO, Wash. —

Franklin County sheriff's officers say an 18-year-old boy reportedly was bitten by a baby rattlesnake at Palouse Falls State Park in southeast Washington.

The boy apparently picked up the snake Monday, unaware it was a rattler.

A deputy tells the Tri-City Herald that a car taking the boy to a hospital broke down and an ambulance was called to take him to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. His condition was not known.
