Tribute to homeless veterans in Seattle
Bread of Life Mission in Seattle's Pioneer Square will honor homeless veterans at 4 p.m. Monday with a Memorial Day program that will include music, guest speakers and a steak dinner.
Of the nation's estimated 150,000 homeless veterans, including some 5,000 in the Puget Sound area, about three-quarters deal with mental-health conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder.
At the program, to be held at the mission, 97 Washington St., veterans also will be presented with vouchers for shelter.
