Man killed in crash ID'd

The man killed Tuesday night in an automobile accident in Auburn has been identified as Andrew Bonwell, 18, by the King County Medical Examiner's Office. Bonwell was a football player at Auburn Senior High School, according to teammate Cameron Chaney.

The man killed Tuesday night in an automobile accident in Auburn has been identified as Andrew Bonwell, 18, by the King County Medical Examiner's Office. Bonwell was a football player at Auburn Senior High School, according to teammate Cameron Chaney.

Bonwell was killed and a woman suffered critical injuries in a two-car collision Tuesday night in the 5500 block of A Street Southeast in Auburn.

Auburn fire authorities said two vehicles collided head-on at high speed shortly after 8 p.m.

Bonwell was pronounced dead at the scene. The critically injured woman was taken to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center. Two other people were taken to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Auburn police said the cause of the accident was under investigation.
