WSU Nursing building dedicated Thursday

The state's largest nursing program will dedicate its new headquarters on Thursday when the Washington State University College of Nursing Building is unveiled at the Riverpoint Campus in downtown Spokane.

SPOKANE, Wash. —

The state's largest nursing program will dedicate its new headquarters on Thursday when the Washington State University College of Nursing Building is unveiled at the Riverpoint Campus in downtown Spokane.

The state Legislature appropriated $34.6 million for the building, while the federal government provided $2.5 million to help fund key technology, simulators and other infrastructure.

The nursing program, established in Spokane in 1968, provides training through the doctorate level to more than 1,000 students with 100-plus faculty and more than 50 support staff. The college's programs are located on WSU's campuses in Spokane, Vancouver, Tri-Cities and at a site in Yakima, all connected by interactive technology.
