UW grad, camera technology headed for Hubble
The University of Washington has a big stake in the mission to upgrade the Hubble space telescope.

The pilot of the shuttle Atlantis, scheduled to lift off Monday, is Greg Johnson, a UW engineering graduate whose parents live in Mukilteo. He'll carry a banner for the UW's aeronautics and astronautics department.
The university also reports that one of the two new instruments headed for Hubble is a camera developed by a team of scientists that includes astronomy Professor Bruce Balick.
The new camera will help scientists study how stars and planets form, evolve and die.
This will be the fifth and final mission to the 19-year-old Hubble telescope.
