E. coli detected in Republic water

The state Health Department is urging residents of Republic to boil their water or use bottled water while the water system is disinfected.

REPUBLIC, Wash. —

The state Health Department is urging residents of Republic to boil their water or use bottled water while the water system is disinfected.

Routine testing detected E. coli. The city's water system serves about 1,400 people.

The boil advisory is likely to remain in effect until early next week.
