Agreement reached to maintain Lake Tapps

Homeowners on Lake Tapps have negotiated an agreement with a water utility to keep the Pierce County lake full for summer recreation and boating, the News Tribune of Tacoma reports.

TACOMA — Homeowners on Lake Tapps have negotiated an agreement with a water utility to keep the Pierce County lake full for summer recreation and boating, the News Tribune of Tacoma reports.

The future of the lake has been in question since 1999 when Puget Sound Energy decided to end a hydroelectric system.

A group of cities and water districts called the Cascade Water Alliance will use the lake as a water source.
