A 14-year-old Auburn boy who spiked his teacher's coffee with vomit-inducing ipecac (IP'-eh-kack) was sentenced to eight months of community supervision and 24 hours of community service.

AUBURN, Wash. —

A 14-year-old Auburn boy who spiked his teacher's coffee with vomit-inducing ipecac (IP'-eh-kack) was sentenced to eight months of community supervision and 24 hours of community service.

The boy pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault and was sentenced Thursday in King County Juvenile Court.

A 13-year-old accused of taking part in the same incident last month at Sequoyah Middle School is scheduled for a court hearing next Friday.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports the 39-year-old teacher who felt ill and was treated at St. Francis Hospital has been reassigned to an elementary school by mutual agreement.
