"Micro" earthquake centered near Lynnwood
A magnitude 2.5 "micro" earthquake occurred just before 10 a.m. today, with the epicenter located two miles north of Lynnwood.
A magnitude 2.5 "micro" earthquake occurred just before 10 a.m. today, with the epicenter located two miles north of Lynnwood.
The depth of the earthquake was approximately 17 miles, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network Web site.
Over the past two weeks, there have been several micro and minor quakes reported from Mount Vernon to Longview, according to the site. The largest of them, a 3.6 magnitude rumbler, occurred March 30 about 23 miles northeast of Neilton, Grays Harbor County. In Eastern Washington, a cluster of small earthquakes has occurred near Richland during the same period. The last one, a magnitude 2 micro earthquake, happened on Friday, nine miles north of Richland.
