Twenty-five people were arrested Saturday in a "gang emphasis sweep" of South King County. Officers from 13 agencies focused on known gang members with outstanding warrants and those on active Department of Corrections supervision. Police informants were also utilized to make street purchases of narcotics.

"The cooperation and coordination by local and federal law enforcement to proactively address criminal gang activity in South King County is helping to make our communities safe," said Kent Police Lt. Ken Thomas. "There are plans for additional emphasis patrols in the future."

Nine people were arrested on narcotics violations, 10 people were arrested on outstanding warrants and one person was arrested on a Department of Corrections violation. Five people were taken into custody for immigration violations.
