Medina officer accused of raping woman on date
A Medina police officer who is accused of raping a woman has been placed on paid leave for the investigation.
A Medina police officer who is accused of raping a woman has been placed on paid leave for the investigation.
The man is accused of raping the woman on a date in November at his home in Issaquah, the day after he met her during a routine traffic stop.
The officer had cited the woman for driving with a suspended license but asked prosecutors to drop the charge and it was dismissed.
KIRO-TV reports the rape allegations came to light last month after the Renton woman accused her boyfriend of sexual assault.
The 30-year-old officer is a four-year veteran of the police department in Medina, a wealthy Bellevue suburb. He has not been charged.
