Felony charge for planting fake bomb in Fife

TACOMA — The man who planted a fake bomb outside the Fife Costco as part of a game has been charged with a felony.

TACOMA — The man who planted a fake bomb outside the Fife Costco as part of a game has been charged with a felony.

The 30-year-old man, Clifford Robert Colon, faces up to five years in prison if convicted of malicious placement of an imitation device.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports he pleaded not guilty and is free pending the trial set for June 16 in Tacoma.

The man said he made a box with a chirping sound and the message "Bomb — you're dead" as part of a game of fake assassination.

It was discovered Tuesday by a delivery driver and the store was evacuated while a bomb squad destroyed the device.
