Fife bomb scare was part of 'assassination' game

FIFE — A 30-year-old man who caused a bomb scare at the Costco store in Fife was arrested when he turned himself in to police.

FIFE — A 30-year-old man who caused a bomb scare at the Costco store in Fife was arrested when he turned himself in to police.

The man said he made a box with a chirping sound and the message "Bomb — you're dead" as part of a game of fake assassination.

Police spokesman Tim Floyd told The News Tribune of Tacoma the man was booked for investigation of intimidation with an explosive. He was remorseful but Floyd says he was jailed because the scare Tuesday shut down businesses and tied up police and fire departments for three hours.

A bomb squad destroyed the device with a water cannon.
