To celebrate today's official arrival of spring, bright-yellow daffodils grown by Pike Place Market farmers will be given to passers-by at a number of downtown Seattle street corners during lunchtime.

Rain or shine, you'll find the free flowers from about noon to about 1:30 p.m. on Fourth Avenue at Pine, Cherry and Madison streets, and on Sixth Avenue at Pine Street, and Fifth Avenue at Columbia Street.

Daffodils are the first fresh, field-grown flowers of the year sold at the Market.
