Burien resident arrested in Sea-Tac laser case

A man accused of shining a green laser on planes landing at Sea-Tac Airport told police he was pointing the light in multiple directions outside a party and may have lasered a plane.

SEATTLE —

A man accused of shining a green laser on planes landing at Sea-Tac Airport told police he was pointing the light in multiple directions outside a party and may have lasered a plane.

A probable cause statement filed for Saturday's bail hearing for the 24-year-old Burien man, Christopher Charles Saunders, says a Port of Seattle officer found the house where the party took place. A renter said Saunders was pointing the laser at horses until he was told to stop.

Pilots of a dozen planes reported a green laser illuminated their planes Feb. 22 as they were coming in for landing. All landed safely.

A pen-style green laser was seized Friday when Saunders was arrested for investigation of felony discharge of a laser.
