King County won't operate the King County Fair this year. The Metropolitan King County Council on Monday gave Enumclaw full responsibility for running the 146-year-old fair.
The county will give the city $311,000, the amount the county has been spending to subsidize the annual event. The agreement lasts one year.
"We will use this year to figure out how the fair can be sustainable in the future," said County Councilmember Reagan Dunn.
