A motorcyclist killed early Sunday — shortly after midnight — when his bike struck a barrier while traveling north on an exit ramp from Interstate 405 to Highway 169 in Renton has been identified by the King County Medical Examiner's Office as Layne Poston, 46, of Auburn.

According to the State Patrol, he was riding a 1986 Harley-Davidson FXSTC and lost control of the vehicle in a curve. He died at the scene.

The State Patrol said the accident was the fifth motorcycle fatality in Western Washington this year.
