Seattle

Metropolitan King County Councilmembers Reagan Dunn and Kathy Lambert, responding to last month's severe flooding, introduced an ordinance Tuesday that would require county staff to stockpile materials and equipment residents can use for sandbagging.

Dunn, R-Maple Valley, also introduced motions requiring better county coordination with other agencies, improved notification of residents of flood danger, and a review of impediments to flood cleanup.

Lambert, R-Redmond, joined Dunn in co-sponsoring the motion for better coordination with local, state and federal agencies. The ordinance and motions were introduced before the County Council's meeting tonight at 6:30 at Tolt Middle School in Carnation to review the county's response to the floods.
