Stadium remodel adds to light-rail cost

SEATTLE —

A proposed Husky Stadium remodel has added $1.6 million to the cost of building light rail to the University of Washington.

Sound Transit approved the increase Thursday for utility-line relocations near its future stadium station.

This year's work involves demolishing a building that houses a concession kitchen and restrooms; the UW required Sound Transit to move the utilities and erect a new kitchen by August, before football season.
