Friends win Lotto with West Seattle ticket

Three longtime friends will share in the $6.8 million Lotto jackpot drawn Saturday.

Three longtime friends will share in the $6.8 million Lotto jackpot drawn Saturday.

John Gose, 79, a retired West Seattle lawyer, said he and his two friends, both retired college administrators, have been getting together for lunch for years.

They had lunch as usual recently and stopped at the 7-11 on 4312 Admiral Way S.W. and bought a ticket.

"Of course, you never think you're going to win, Gose said.

The three, friends for 40 years, plan to pay off mortgages and contribute to grandchildren's education.

The owner of the 7-Eleven store where the ticket was bought will receive a $68,000 bonus, the equivalent of 1 percent of the winnings. The same store got a bonus in 1994 for selling an $11 million winning ticket.
