PORTLAND — Authorities say a robot stolen a week ago from a Portland State University professor's car has been found in Commonwealth Lake.

PORTLAND — Authorities say a robot stolen a week ago from a Portland State University professor's car has been found in Commonwealth Lake.

The Washington County Sheriff's Marine Patrol unit retrieved the robot after a resident called to report seeing what was believed to be a generator in the water.

The 90-pound robot is 29 inches long, 19 inches high and about 23 inches wide. It is valued at $5,000 and was donated to PSU Professor Erik Sanchez for use as a teaching tool.

Authorities say it is unknown how long the robot was in the lake, but Sanchez believes it has been severely damaged.
